Filming of location work took place around the Hertsmere district close to the Elstree Studios (where the interiors were filmed). Elstree Studios is in Borehamwood. Local film locations were used, all within twenty minutes drive from the studios. The main locations used were in and around Shenley, Borehamwood and Letchmore Heath. Borehamwood is situated in the south of Hertfordshire, between the M25 and M1 motorways. Elstree is situated just over a mile west of Borehamwood. Elstree & Borehamwood train station is situated near the centre of Borehamwood.
